But Barbara, it *is* a place of reference - a place to seek advice - a place
to seek resolution of problems - or a place to voice opinions.

It's just that *some* of us less fortunate professionals need to refer to it
to get a source of job openings; a place to seek advice about securing a new
EDI position; a problem resolver of the unemployment problem. And of
course, we all know what opinions are like.

Speaking as one of the Friendly Moderators, I can assure you - and the
readership - from the bottom of my heart that this practice will NOT be
changed, and will be encouraged as long as posters involved follow the
posting rules.

We realize that certain employers may have a problem with their employees
receiving job postings via emails on company-owned email facilities. We
acknowledge this and have taken steps to make sure this is as unobtrusive as
possible.

However, as our tagline says, this is a discussion list "for EDI (Electronic
Data Interchange) and related business to business data interchange."
Nowhere in this list does this say that we will exclude the posting of jobs
from this facet of the business of EDI.

Sorry if this response does not meet with your approval.
