Pat, If I understand you correctly, they are trying to make invalid what DISA ANSI X12 standards state is valid. Some translators require you to jump through hoops to get this done because they are designed around the standard.
One approach might be to only send that and only that transaction, say 850, to that trading partner as a post operation. The GS created would be the PO only. This way only you can control it without map changes. If you only want one purchase order, so they are not bundled with 10 POs, then that flow control can also be handled in multiple ways but perhaps not with TLW directly.
