We had an issue with GXS that started yesterday afternoon and lasted until
around 10pm last night. When I talked with their support desk, I was told that
they had a backlog in both the AS2 and ICS networks. We were getting the same
files sent to us over and over. They told me that due to the backlog, they were
not informing the other VANS that they had received the mailbags from them,
therefore the other VANS were resending their data until they received
acknowldgement of receipt. In particular for us we received the same files up
to 5 times from Sterling via interconnect.
Our major complaint with GXS on this was that we were never notified of this
issue. When we talked with their support, we were told that they would send an
email to everyone once the problem was fixed. We told them that is unacceptable
and they should inform their clients when the problem arises, not after the
fact.
Anyway-- we were told that the AS2 piece was resolved and they were still
working on the ICS side. No Estimated Fix time was given.
Basically we are not very happy at the moment with them. Our EDI Software
does not have the ability to check for duplicate ISA #'s. One of many reasons
we are in the process of changing systems

If you're looking for better reliability, Covisint is the only VAN I'm
aware of to offer a guaranteed SLA on uptime. A VAN cannot afford to be

surprize me. After all, it's GXS we are talking about
here. I wont work at a company that has GXS as a VAN.
I avoid a lot of headaches and frustrations that way.
