Client calls: Big panic because ASN to SearsUS had failed and had to be resent. We found the problem (data-entry) and the ASN was resent, but no 997! Then they received an email from SearsUS about a missing 997 for a PO that was never received.... hmmm
Called VAN (Easylink) and was reminded that Sears US had switched from Advantis to Sterling. They checked our outgoing to make sure it was now being interconnected to Sterling. That was fine, but there was nothing inbound from Sears for a few days! After a few frantic emails to Sears, it turns out that another company on the Sterling network was using the same qualifier & ID as our client on Easylink! All the outbound documents from SearsUS were being sent to them, instead of interconnecting to Easylink. sigh... Another week, another problem solved ;-) Moral: Use a qualifier & ID that are globally unique, if possible. Earl Wertheimer [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.spe-edi.com ------------------------ Yahoo!
