When you create a collection mailbox to collect files from SAP make
Gentran Application mailbox as a recipient of your collection mailbox
(option on the collection tab). This way it will be picked up and
translated by Gentran automatically. The documents will end up in the
Out Drawer and from there your can schedule a Send session to run and
send them out. We've automated everything here so let me know if I
misunderstood your question.

Eugene.

Subject: [EDI-L] RE: [edi_gns] Gentran NT Server 5.0 mailbox question

How about a small-app/utility/command-line-script/cron job-whatever that
just moves the files from directory X, renames them for your import,
and
puts them in directory Y ?

I know you said you have no control over the name, but just curious- why
not?

Subject: [edi_gns] Gentran NT Server 5.0 mailbox question

Hello group,

I've been running Gentran on the server since 2.0. Back in the day, in
order to get the file name I wanted, I had to create collection mailbox
and
then an export mailbox to work the file name magic. Here is the
situation,
my application puts several files into a directory. They have little
control over the name. It is dynamic and they can not specify any part
of
the name. So, I have created a collection mailbox to grab the files.
Then
I send it to an extract mailbox so that I can name it a file to be used
with
my system Import configuration. So, here is my question, is there a
more
efficient way? These files are ready to go into Gentran Application
other
than the file name. The transfer to two mailboxes is a problem for two
reasons. It is a very large file, SAP IDOCs. The other problem is the
number of situations that I have to do this. It has been requested that
I
automate the Import for our Production, QAS, and development systems.
We
have 3 SAP landscapes, so that works out to be 9 situations, 2 mailboxes
each. I would just like to know if there is a better way.

Any help will be appreciated, thanks!

Cindy
