The problem is that some companies give away their software for free, with the assumption that they will get paid when you add the 2nd partner. You just have to find the supplier whose charges are reasonable. There _is_ Open Source software that does AS2 - called Open AS2. http://www.openas2.org/ Hire a programmer to set it up for you... Then it's yours, and you don't have to pay additional licensing... > I feel that this is ridiculous, because we continue pay money to these > people, even if we do not call them for support. If so, are you living with our > or is there a way out for all these trading partner based license > structure ? This mostly looks like manager/agent licensing structure. Yes. We have people on this list who were unwilling to add AS2 partners because the additional licencing cost was ridiculous. All the software we have developed has a one-time fee. Additional partners are charged at our hourly rate to install the mappings & test (if necessary). Maintenance fees are NOT based on the number of partners. We charge for our time, nothing else. That's why we are a small company, and Sterling is very big ;-) Earl Wertheimer [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.spe-edi.com ...
