Besides offering B2B services, IDEA is the B2B standards organization for
the electrical industry. IDEA is owned by the National Electrical
Manufacturers Assoc (NEMA) and the National Assoc of Electrical Distributors
(NAED).

IDEA has committees that are involved in building B2B standards (EDI/XML)
and developing UNSPSC codes. There are also IDEA task forces that create
white papers on best business practices for the industry. We are always
looking for people to participate in standards committees. In September we
are holding an E-Biz forum with speakers from GS1, 1Sync, EPCGlobal, SAP,
NEMA, IDEA and others.

Subject: RE: [EDI-L] Re: Inovis Van Users

I'm going to have to say something here. I use IDX2 from IDEA and Activant.
They use Sterling for Interconnect services to the rest of the "VAN World".
I have only experienced 1 major outage since its inception. Pricing is more
than competitive.

I prefer IDX2's website for doing things over Inovis' website. I find
things much easier to do, especially the No Duplicate Interchange feature.
I use that on my inbound and outbound traffic. I don't have to do partner
setups. They are done. If I address my documents to a Square D ID, they
get there, no hassles. If I want interchanges resent, I can do that myself
from a PC, and securely. The only thing I have to bother Support for is
mailbag numbers for chasing lost interchanges through other VANs.

I do use Inovis for a few trading partners. If I were limited to only one
VAN, it would be IDX2.

We have used Inovis for ~5 years. They are VERY reliable when transporting
data. Their customer support website is an awesome tool with functionality
that no one else has. They have made sweeping updates to their processes,
servers and Van software over the last year or so that has really raised the
bar for Van service and performance in the industry (in my opinion).

No Van is up 100% of the time, 365 days per year. In the event of any
service disruption at all, they immediately send out detailed information
with frequent updates on the resolution. I have caught other another major
van routinely maintaining complete silence around any issues they are
experiencing in hopes no one notices.

I'd prefer an open and honest partnership with my van. I have used 3
other vans in my career. Inovis is one of the leading Vans out there so
while their pricing is extremely competitive, their products and services
are top notch. You will be happy with Inovis.
