Re training: I've been working with the product for nine, ten years now and
the only formal training I've ever seen available was
through the publisher - when the publisher was TSI/Mercator. (I never saw a
training offering from Ascential. However, I would
expect IBM to come up with 'something' in reasonably short order.)

Unfortunately..... I had a couple of clients attend the 'classroom' training
from TSI/Mercator and come back totally unprepared to
handle Real World Applications. Seems in the classroom all data fits simple
patterns, never has errors, is always sorted in the
correct order, never encounters the well-known but still AFAIK undocumented
object-binding restriction in rules which operate on
series items.. in short, all they could do was make The World's Simplest Map.

I never had a client who had contracted for "on site" primarily because of
expense... nine years ago TSI/Mercator was quoting
$1500/day.

I don't mean to be the bearer of bad news, but I gotta call 'em like I see 'em.

(You do know the HIPAA type tree/map package was, last time I looked, going
for $50K for a license, right? I think you could save a
ton of money on this project if you look at some other options. Start by
checking my web sites!)
