I don't do much cross-dock EDI any more, yet all things are possible in Transportation. Once I think I've seen it all, I see a new wrinkle added to the mix.
Here's an 856 structure which I have mapped numerous times: BSN HL - E (for Equipment) HL - O HL - I Here's what happens, an overseas vendor groups and loads multiple orders into one container. What I can't remember now, is whether these shipments went to a 3PL cross dock operation for subsequent receipt of a breakout/shipping order, or whether they were shipped directly to customer DC. Regardless, I would think one could call Sears Canada, or other retailer and talk to one of the IT and/or EDI analysts to help. Most retailers do not allow multiple POs in one container. If they are allowed, it is normally with direct to store shipments. To enable multiple PO containers into a cross dock would force the cross docking operations to repackage the containers for the shipment to the individual stores. This would not be very efficient and would be best handled at the supplier. Of course, this is the buyer's (Sears Canada's) call. ___________________________________________ Todd > -----Original Message----- > From: deeefa ggggggssshh [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] <mailto:appareledi%40hotmail.com> com] > Sent: Sunday, November 19, 2006 5:35 AM > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] <mailto:appareledi%40hotmail.com> com; todd.labonte@ <mailto:todd.labonte%40e-supplylink.com> e-supplylink.com; edi- > [EMAIL PROTECTED] <mailto:l%40yahoogroups.com> com > Subject: RE: [EDI-L] Sears Canada - 856- SAMS FXD > > Hello, > > Just realised that I did not mention that it is a Cross Dock ASN - SAMS > FXD > program of Sears.
