Hi Carla --
I've been involved in several negotiations for EDI outsourcing. I've
also had to work with very poor excuses of solution providers
(fortunately not ones that I selected), and know the big and hidden
pitfalls.
My company has a product offering to guide companies in their
outsourcing negotiations.
With the product offering you will receive the following:
* A White Paper which discusses:
* Real or Perceived Benefits of Outsourcing
* Real, Hidden or Perceived Risks of Outsourcing
* Who should be involved in the decision
* Names of 3 EDI Outsourcing Providers and a Resource Recommendation
for finding others.
* 25 Questions to Consider and Ask your Candidates
* How to position yourself so that the Potential Outsourcing
Providers respond seriously to your inquiry.
* An Excel Spreadsheet Template with estimate volumes of
transactions/ maps etc. to model estimates by maps, volumes, etc
* Cost comparison Analysis
* Support as needed in the analysis, review of white paper and
negotiations.
Please call me at your convenience if you need support in this important
analysis, discussion and negotiation.
Regards,
Susan

Subject: [EDI-L] EDI Outsourcing
I work for a small-to-medium sized food manufacturer looking at
outsourcing its EDI as a cost savings measure. I currently develop and
maintain the EDI setup (GIS on iSeries) in-house; conversion to GIS was
completed this year. I have approximately 50 trading partners, who
dictate the inbound/outbound document formats they send/receive.
I would appreciate suggestions for doing a quick study to determine
whether this is a feasible option for my company. I am looking for
outsourcing options, outsourcing companies, cost ranges, lessons
learned (what to look out for), etc.
Thanks,
Karla
