I've seen a couple of people whose comments seemed to indicate that they
were concerned that their comments were "off topic" to the list.
Old timers will remember that pretty much anything was -- and is -- fair
game and allowed on the list. We might come down hard on people who poke
fun at newbies, I don't think anyone here would tolerate an ad hominem
attack, and trust me -- you don't see any spam here by design (I nuke their
membership, then I nuke the spam) -- but everything else? On topic.
All that the group generally asks is that you flag your comments
appropriately.
* If you have an affiliation with a firm that has something to do with
EDI, of course you can put your pitch here. Just make sure it has the tag
<SALES> on it.
* Want to rant about the Simpsons? Please don't. :) But if you feel
compelled to, put <OFF TOPIC> on the subject line.
* Have a position to post? Looking for work? <JOBS> is your tag.
Try and stay mindful of the tags - and there's a reminder at the bottom of
every single post - and nobody will complain about you or your post. Or if
they do, they won't be paid attention to, because you will have been
following the only real posted rule in the forum.
