I second that observation. Part of the purpose of EDI is the integrity of the data. That pursuit is fruitless if it is conducted by one who lacks integrity himself or herself. The answers to interview questions ought to come from the interviewee's experience, not from cramming. To represent oneself as experienced, and reinforcing that subterfuge with memorized answers to technical questions so as to mislead the interviewer is fraud.
I still remember how I got into EDI. My EDI experience had, up to then, been looking over the shoulder of the EDI lady who shared the office space. My resume claimed that I had modified UNIX scripts used to run EDI, and the headhunter sent me on an interview for the mapping gig on the basis of that, plus 25 years of IS experience. The interviewer asked me technical questions about X12. I answered, "I am not certain of the answer, but I know it is covered in the X12 manual." I got the job. Be honest about your abilities, and about your experience. If you are good, you will progress and not bring discredit on yourself and others. Mislead, and you deserve the worst. I don't see how memorizing the answers to the questions will make you an effective consultant when an issue arises that is not on the question list. Only a solid understanding of the product, and the ability to think and solve problems will allow you to DO the job after you GET the job. I do wish you well. cjg Carl J. Also, maybe do a search on "Contivo" to see what some experienced members have inquired about. It might help you get a feel for the questions you may face.
