Hi Kumar,
Also see previous message appended just below your question. You didn't
specify what version you are migrating from / to. The answer to your
question depends on what products you have available.
If all you have is Gentran 6.xx, and you have visual mapper and AI, I think
the answer is "no". However, if you have access to GIS the answer may be
"yes". I'm not sure in which version the "import" feature was added to the
GIS mapper (which is upwards compatible with Gentran AI), but I know it was
there by GIS 4.0. (see the message appended below regarding the "import"
feature).

You can use "import" to convert a visual map to a GIS map. While the GIS
map cannot be used in AI, you can export a .ddf from the GIS map (one for
each side) and the .ddfs can be used in AI mapper to create a map. This
really buys you almost as much as someone converting directly to GIS would
get: since "import" doesn't bring forward logic from groups (i.e.
conditional logic), for the way many people have created visual maps you
don't really get any mapping instructions brought into the map anyway.

So do you have (or know anybody who has access to) GIS? In the mapper, look
under the "File" pull down menu. AI only has "New" or "Open" in the intial
section. If your version of GIS has the import feature, you will see
"New", "Open" and "Import".

Ken
