Reporting Relationship:


"Reports to Engineering Manager of IT Applications Development"


The Role:


The engineer will be working with a talented group of engineers in the
Netflix IT Applications department. The IT Applications department is
responsible for supporting Customer billing, Finance, Purchasing and
Receiving departments. We act as an interface between Web Engineering,
CRM and Logistics teams. We use Oracle E business suite 11i
(GL/AP/AR/PO/INV) for core financials, and have built extensions to it,
in a loosely coupled way for customer billing, purchasing and receiving.
In addition to the above, we are responsible for generating DVD orders
for customers taking into account the inventory available at various
Netflix hub locations, and the shortest route possible to meet the
customer demand.


In this challenging and critical position you will set up and administer
all Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) systems for the company to enhance
our supply chain management systems, work with our trading partners to
ensure that the most optimum processes are in place and implement EDI
with them.




The essential job functions are:


    * Works with internal business and external trading partners to
facilitate B2B/EDI usage, including recommendation of best practices

    * Supports the ongoing integration of B2B/EDI technology with various
business systems

    * Document B2B/EDI processes for trading partners, business partners
and own department

    * Participate in design and development of tools to manage B2B/EDI
traffic

    * Interface with IT Operations for all B2B/EDI planning

    * Develop and maintain vendor relationships with 3rd Party B2B/EDI
vendors

    * Work with Vendor Compliance Department to minimize and research EDI
compliance charges

    * First line of contact for B2B/EDI issues via phone and email with
business partners, trading partners and development personnel to solve
problems in the B2B/EDI process flow. Debug process issues in daily
operations.


Required Experience & Competencies:


    * 5+ years experience in technical implementation of B2B Integration
with a focus on EDI

    * Strong knowledge of B2B/EDI translation software, preferably
Seeburger BIS v6. Other packages such as webMethods or GIS are
acceptable.

    * Ability to research, identify and resolve EC/EDI technical problems
within needed time frames

    * Prefer prior experience with communication options (FTP, AS2) and
VANS (value-added networks)

    * Knowledge of B2B Integration Standards (X12, VICS, XML)

    * Experience in working with trading/business partners to research
and resolve problems


Nice To Have:


    * Familiarity with Oracle 11i ERP or other ERP package

    * Exposure to a programming or a scripting language.

    * 1 year of Seeburger BIS software

    * Desired experience with EDIFACT

    * 2 years of Oracle PL/SQL and SQL

    * 2 years of Unix based systems


Education:


    * A Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science or equivalent
engineering.
