I believe that the inbound to SAP processing is only activated if the first 3
letters of the application name = SAP.

Hi Ed,
how will you make a particular application "not run to SAP?" Because, startrfc
will be under xlate/bin which is applicable to every inbound translation. Also,
if you want to use "-s" to supress the "special application interface" then all
the inbound messages will be affected.
Please suggest.

For point number 2 below, if you do not want certain EDI messages to go to
SAP, then you need to create another TLE
application that will not run to SAP. This new application should map to a
directory that you can then direct these
messages to where you want then to go.
For each partner/message you define which application you want to go to.

Hi everyone.
We are in the process of implementing SAP with TLE 605.
I have two questions:
1) will the startrfc run automatically for outbound translation also? I
am getting the error "unable to access the database for SAP system id xxx
and port yyy. In our SAP system this port is created. So, I don't
understsnd why this error is occuring.
2) We are pulling the data from VAN, translating and triggering RFC at
teh same time. But we have a requirement that we don't want to post the
data into SAP for certain EDI messages. THe res should go through.
But, as you know that we cannot distinguish between EDI messages when
pulling the data from VAN. SO how can we treat them differently for RFC??
Please suggest your comments.
