Jeff, I would recommend having a separate machine used simply for Gentran archive purposes. That was our plan but, if your Network Admin is as strict as mine (which is a very good thing) he won't want Gentran on the network anymore. So, what we decided to do is use the raw archive data files and search them directly for the documents we needed. Of course it can be messy thanks to Gentran's extra bits added in between the data. But, if you understand your data well you can piece together all the pieces without much trouble. It's not the best solution, but it works great for us.
