It's been awhile since I've been involved in the details of EDI in
the medical products supply chain - I'm hoping learn some insights to
a few questions re connection methods, modes, protocols, etc. (HIPAA
has claimed my life!)
How do providers and their suppliers exchange EDI?
Do they use the Internet much.
What protocols: HTTP, FTP . . .
What about Identity Management: digital certificates, access
authorization, userids/passwords, etc.
Are VANs used a lot? What about GHX, etc.?
What about message protocols, e.g., AS2, SOAP, etc.
Is Reliable Messaging used much?
Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.
