Lissa Somebody should be able to tell you who the document is for... Is it internal or to be exchanged with a Trading Partner? Are you sending or receiving it? and of course.... what industry is it for?
If it's for a TP, then you are required to comply with their existing setup. We have links to hundreds of online EDI guides at http://www.spe- edi.com/links.html See JCPenney or Lowes for samples. Normally an X12 856 can be used for detailed Shipment information. The X12 812 is used for Debit/Credit information. The more detailed your question, the better your answer will be ;-) To: [email protected] From: "lissa_newland2001" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Date sent: Thu, 17 Jan 2008 22:01:05 -0000 Subject: [EDI-L] Electronic Ship and Debit document > I am being asked to create an "EDI" ship and debit document, however, > no one seems to know which "EDI Document" you would use for this.
