Allan,

That's helpful. It's my understanding that Wal-mart requires suppliers
to use 1Sync. Does anyone know if that is correct, or does Wal-mart
require suppliers to use any Certified Data Pool?

Thanks,

Eileen

Eileen,

You don't do business with the GDSN directly. You do it through a
Certified Data Pool (like 1SYNC). So 1SYNC (or any other Certified Data
Pool) is where you start.

Dave,

I have a customer asking if we are going to make our software interface
with 1Sync/GDSN. I'm a little confused on who I start with, 1Sync or
GDSN?

I see that you offer consulting services on implementing GDSN. Would
you be available for consulting on designing an interface to 1Sync/GDSN
within an existing ERP system?

Thanks,

Eileen

Walter,

The whole purpose of the Global Data Synchronization initiative and
databases is to provide exactly the information you need.

You may want to join the GDSN and ask your manufacturers to join also to
provide you that information.

Please feel free to contact me directly if I can offer any additional
information.

Rgds,

We are in the grocery distribution business and use transactions now of
810, 850, 820, 997.
We always have trouble getting the most up to date product descriptions
and sizes from our manufacturers and I was wondering if there is a
transaction that is available for products, names, UPC codes,
descriptions, list prices, etc. Right now we rely on information
mailed (or emailed) to us telling us of an impending product change.

I didn't see such a transaction.
Worse case I need to contact our manufacturers and request a product
file sent to me in csv format, or something.

Thanks,
Walter
