Elan, To find the answer to your question, you will need to consider who is using the information.
Generally, one would think that the ASN is going to the purchaser of the goods, or a third-party warehouse. Do they care about the tare weight? Well, they do if they are paying for shipping. The weight in the TD1 has a qualifier. You can specify what weight you are transmitting - i.e. Net vs gross vs tare. Does the TP indicate which qualifier to use? If so, that is a clue as to what they want. Or maybe you are referring to the total weight in the CTT segment. This is used as a double-check on the detail lines -- a total of the details, and what goes into it needs to be agreed upon by the trading partners. It is always safest to check with the trading partner. Hopefully they will know what they want.
