You might want to look at PowerBASIC, http://www.powerbasic.com For all the *Non* "User-Interface" code the syntax is virtually identical, the compiler is supported, there is a really active Peer Support Forum and a brand-new compiler is only about $200.00 for a license. So.... if your "EDI Development Project" is primarily "batch" in nature, this could be a viable option. The user-interface code is totally different from VB.. however, you could think about contracting that part out and handling the 'batch" stuff yourself. (he shamelessly mentioned, being that business). Hell, it's a thought. But you can always look on eBay for VB6.
