No, not as a universal proposition, anyway. .

I think this would be true if you qualified it to be "the Big Three EDI 
Documents *in the distribution industry*

In the healthcare industry, the Big Three would be  the 837, 835 and 270/271 
(OK so that's four but the 270/271 are always used in pairs so it only 
counts as one)

In the manufacturing industry  I'd probably go with a Big Two of  830/856

I don't do EDI work in any other industries so I'm not qualified to comment 
on the "BIg <number>" in those industries, but I will bet each industry has 
its own set of
"Biggies."
