I'd whole heartedly agree with this statement!

Knowing the industry, the ERP you are sending data to and receiving  
from is key to minimizing EDI development and problem solving.  Being  
a business analyst is an intrinsic part of the EDI business.  Knowing  
more than I needed to know has always helped me do my job better,  
whether it be EDI or systems analyst or software developer.
