That is an excellent point, Brian. That, and going one step further: each 'sender' should have 'something' in place to create a list of "documents sent more than 24 (48?) business hours ago for which we have no 997 or a 997 indicating 'rejected.' " I have been toying with the idea of creating some kind of low-cost reconciliation tool for several years.. you know, one which could actually find the "segment and element" which have offended the Lords of X12 instead of being forced to count?
