It's actually even running on the same OS (XP). The only thing I did was install TLW v6.5 and then reinstalled an older version. I completely removed the Antivirus just to ensure it wasn't the problem, still has the same problem. Guess maybe I'll try Inovis again, and then give Win7 + TLW 6.5 a shot and see if that improves it.

I installed 6.5 at the behest of someone at inovis (.... Try running with your Anti-Virus software disabled; this is often the problem with long 'open' times. I know that is not a good long term "solution" unless your machine has good isolation from all sources of infection. but at least it will tell you if that is the problem. Maybe you can exempt certain folders from real-time A-V scanning, or get an A-V product which will let you do that. That said, I know TLW can oink (it was using the same STX/MS-DOS file open strategy last time I ran it) , but if it was "OK" on prior O/S there must be some other environmental factor. Maybe Win/7 "helps" by automatically inserting the Windows' A-V into the "A-V-chain" in addition to whatever non-MS product you are using? Maybe you can just disable that part? Michael C.
