Jim, I went back and quickly reviewed some of the 820 specs we have received. Not sure this value has to be passed in a N1 segment...
Here is one example with uses a REF segment to provide that sort of data. Here is the REF01 from one of my TP's 820's: REF01 128 Reference Identification Qualifier M 1 ID 2/3Code qualifying the Reference Identification AP Accounts Receivable Number EF Electronic Funds Transfer ID Number IT Internal Customer Number (Suppliers Internal Payment Code) But there are hundreds of values available for the REF01, so this should be something you can work out with your Trading Partner. I have looked at the 820 specs from our bank. - The bank does not send the N1_04 for the N1_01(PR "Payer") segment. - They define the BPR_10 as the "Originating Customer ID". When I asked them about the BPR_10 they replied that the BPR_10 is the TaxID of the Originator. I would have expected the bank to send a N1_04 as it is passed to them from many payers. So any input how you do this would be helpful. Do you receive an N1_04 (PR "Payer") code (most likely a DUNS+4 or GLN)?
