Michael, I was about to reply on your comment regarding the "EDI platform", but I better first check your level of sense of humor, I do not want to be perceived as offending ;-)))))))))))))))))
Could you point me to some information about IIRC (?) XML? I do agree that talking about X12 with someone who cannot read/write an X12 instance with Notepad is not really helpful. [Even if I have to admit that I am still better in EDIFACT than X12, but I am progressing ;-)] I would say that today you have good people knowing both XML and EDI. I would also say that the arrogant XML nerds saying that EDI is dead are gone! /Patrice - http://babelabout.blogspot.com/ --- In [email protected], "Michael Mattias/LS" <mcmlse...@...> wrote: > > > Let me answer your question, despite the fact that I would probably not > > convince you ;-) > > > > << Why go ANSI X12 ==> XML ==> ERP format and back when you can cut out > > the middle man and just go ANSI X12==>ERP ? >> > > > > Because... my mapping/translation will then be expressed in a standard > > language that can be run on (virtually) any platform.
