That's a good idea, but you should not limit your 'vendor universe'  for 
translation and mapping/integration software to that part of the universe 
bounded by your communications software vendor.

Call me Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm if you will, but I believe it often the 
case the superior solution for any company will be the use of vendor A's 
communications, vendor B's translation and vendor C's mapping/integration 
products.
