Sandy,
There are over 80 possible reason codes for those elements (AT702 & AT704) in the AT7 segment of the 214 document. I think that Earl may have already listed them for you in another post. Mind you, his came from a "newer" version of the X12 standard - but maybe not much has changed. Take a look at his post. If you can - if your company can - it would be of benefit for you to purchase the ANSI X12 Standard documentation from the governing body - I know one of the regular posters to this list can provide you with costs and such. Be prepared - it's not cheap. But, if you are serious about EDI - if your company is serious about EDI - then it would be a highly beneficial investment. Another possibility - if you're friendly with any of the EDI folks at the carriers you're doing business with - ask them if they can provide you with a list of the codes that they typically use. Some will have meaning, some will not. Talking with your trading partner (the carriers) is the best way to find out what is valid and common. And, as has been said by others, it may vary depending upon the type of carrier that they are. The segment is for the AT702 and AT704. We received 214's from carriers and have a small list they can use, but we are thinking of expaning that and it is my job to find out which ones are valid/standard. Does this help? But, as has been mentioned, your question is a bit vague... Which version of the X12 standard...? 4010? 5010..? 3040...? And which segment are you looking for...? Best bet would be to also ask your trading partner what they want to see if you're sending the 214... if you're receiving the 214, then you get to set the "standard" for what data you want to see.... So, if you can provide more information, you can recieve more of an answer to your question...
