Sounds like a competent sales/marketing person doing his job.... well. But I digress.. > From what I can gather, iTrade offers a web-based vendor-portal. This > (IMO) > kind of defeats the 'host integration', lights-out operations that they > are > looking for. So I'm confused. I cannot speak to the specific offering in this case, but there are many firms who do what iTrade does (I ran into iTrade some number of years ago but can't remember anything but the name) and most offer BOTH a "web portal" for smaller partners who don't have true EDI capability and an unattended batch option for those who do. These are popular amongst "big guys" because they provide a 'single interface' with their partners both large and small - or more accurately, 'with' and 'without' true EDI capability. The 'big guy' (in this case your client) neither knows nor cares "how" their partners interface with the service, because it is totally transparent to them. Michael C. Mattias Tal Systems Inc.
