The only issue I have ever run into with this approach is when the system auditors(SOX or SAS70) take a look at what is setting dates. I think Leah mentioned in her reply the appropriateness. I would say it depends on if the "company" is considering the EDI Translator as the "application of record" or whether the Translator has been found "in/out of scope" for auditing purposes. Of course, all the above is fodder if you are not working for a publicly traded or audited company.
Just something to consider, John ________________________________ From: Michael Mattias/LS <[email protected]> To: EDI-L <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, November 3, 2011 11:01 AM Subject: Re: [EDI-L] Logic to add business days/working days to any given date >I doubt it knows about all your "bank holidays" over there. ;-) > > No, its just days. I did a "add/subtract work days" EXIT function for Mercator/Windows .... uses Monday-Friday. (BTW, that DLL and the documentation's free for the asking, but you do have to ask. Works with Mercator from v 1.4 thru (at least) 7.5) I had the "table of holidays file" designed five years ago for planned inclusion but I never got around to implementing it.... BION, no one ever asked and this is used at least ten sites, for both "arrival date" (add transit time to ship date for ASNs) " and "order due date" (subtract lead time from customer "wanted" date on POs).
