That's called a 'blocked' file - sent in a block 80 bytes wide. It's an old mainframe thing. Your VAN can usually unblock it for you or you can do it I ourself by removing all the CRLF characters in the file first ( you don't mention what tool you use) and then fed it streamed to you de-envelope procedure which should be able to handle it from there
