The 'general' specifications would be too generic for your specific implementation. My $0.02: Find out what specifications are being used by other companies in your industry. See if they would work for you. Ask the source if you can modify and publish your version. There are products that you can buy to help generate specifications, or you can just write them in Word or Excel.
