Title: EDI Sterling Developer
Location: Columbus, OH
Length: 5+ Months
Responsibilities:
· Assist in requirements gathering and scope planning.
· Assist with the creation of functional and technical design
documents. Assist in the creation and execution of test plans.
· Code, test, document, and implement enhancements and corrections
(very complex).
· Identify and resolve system issues. Includes monitoring system
performance and resolving these issues.
· Participate in the generation of user documentation.
· Provide frequent status reports to management.
Required Skills:
· Prior professional experience with retail transportation/logistics.
· Proven experience with coding business process using BPML.
· Strong background in testing support.
· Ability to see and execute the “big picture” – analysis, design,
code, test, implement, support, and provide diagnostic analysis.
· Proven knowledge of EDI protocols, transactions, methods, tools,
business processes…
* Protocols : ANSI X12 and EDIFACT
* Transaction Sets : Logistics, Customs, and Finance
- 214, 315, 350, 810, 820, 831, 850, 856, 857, 861, 997
- BANSTA, CONTRL, DESADV, INVOIC, ORDERS, ORDRSP, PAYMUL
* Communication methods : VAN, AS2, FTP / SFTP, HTTP / HTTPS, JDBC
* Tools : Gentran Integration Suite / Sterling Integrator 5.0 (UNIX)
* Mapping / Modeling : Sterling Map Editor, GPM (Graphical Process
Modeler)
* Languages : BPML (Business Process Modeling Langage), XML, JAVA, SQL
* Operating Systems / Databases : Unix, Oracle
· Working knowledge of SAP and IDOCs a plus but not required.
