To answer your question, Gentran Server for Windows does not support any
full-on web services. That said the HTTP Gateway for Gentran Server will send
and receive data via HTTP or HTTPS; however, responses are limited to standard
HTTP success and failure codes.

        Hello Majid,

MS BizTalk is a very robust tool for B2B messaging. Since it is based on

the .NET platform, you have the full power of the .NET programming

languages available to you. For data transformation you have a visual

mapper that is powered by XSLT. You are also able to create maps directly

in XSLT and call them from within your application. For data flows that

require complex logic, you have a visual tool called Orchestrations - this

is a major feature of BizTalk. There is also a Business Rules Engine that

can be used on its own to enforce business rules based on content or

context. There is a tool to monitor business activity (called BAM). BAM

allows you to track all of your POs or Invoices for example. BAM is a user

friendly way for business users to monitor message activity. You can also

monitor server health with SCOM (there are specific configurations for

BizTalk). For high traffic sites you can take advantage of multiple nodes

and MS Clustering/Load Balancing. And of course BizTalk has built in EDI

functionality (X12 and Edifact). You have access to several line of

business adapters - SAP, SWIFT for example. Communication choices are

flexible: AS2, HTTP, WCF, FTP, Web Service...

The thing is that BizTalk is not a 'turn key' solution. It definitely

requires someone familiar with .NET and MS SQL Server to get it up and

running.Compared to other tools I have used for EDI/B2B, BizTalk is more

complex but in the end quite beneficial to the enterprise.

        Hi All,

I am using Gentran Server for Windows5.1 . We have a new client who requested
us to transfer files through web services.

Is there any utility in Gentran server to use web services. Please advice.

Regards,

Vijay
