JOB SUMMARY:
The EDI System Analyst is part of a team responsible for managing the
implementation and maintenance of approved EDI transactions as required
by our trading partners. The EDI System Analyst will be involved in all
phases of the development life cycle for our EDI platform including the
evaluation of requirement documentation, project design, map
development, internal and external file testing, deployment, and trading
partner profile maintenance.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support - Monitor and take corrective action on all end-user EDI
problems/questions in a timely manner. Manage end-user incidents in
ticketing system. This position is the first level of support for all
EDI customers.
Documentation/Communication - Maintain the trading partner profiles,
cross-reference tables, and all other support files. Collaborate with
others in the creation of installation, maintenance and procedure
documentation. Utilize strong verbal and written communication skills
to interact with both internal and external contacts within our
international network.
Implementation Develop, test and deploy stored procedures, table
triggers and translation maps. Identify, troubleshoot and reproduce
potential defects. Validate data.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Involvement in the design, development, documentation and
support of our organization's global EDI platform.
· Involvement in implementing and maintaining EDI
communication methods including secure and standard FTP, AS2 and related
elements such as SSL certificates, User IDs and passwords.
· Involvement in maintaining server infrastructure, including
supporting hardware and software upgrades.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS - Ability to adapt quickly to the needs of our
business and customers. Familiarity with desktop applications (e.g.
Microsoft Office) and MS Windows operating systems. Strong technical
troubleshooting skills, passion for technology and some practical work
experience. Strong verbal and written communication skills. On-Call
availability during off hours for EDI related support when necessary.
Shows initiative and drive to complete tasks in a timely manner,
requiring minimal supervision, and seeks responsibility and ownership of
such work.
KNOWLEDGE - Uses professional concepts; applies company policies and
procedures to resolve a variety of issues. Knowledge of SQL databases is
a strong plus. Familiarity with HTML and XML are preferred.
Multi-lingual is also a plus in our global industry.
JOB COMPLEXITY - Works on and resolves complex problems. Must have
strong problem-solving skills to address complex problems within the
technical arena and develop creative and practical recommendations and
solutions. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to
determine appropriate action.
EXPERIENCE - Experience in the Transportation Industry and familiarity
with transportation related EDI documents and/or specification
documentation is a plus.
EDUCATION - College degree in Information Technology is a plus.
TRAVEL - Minimum to no travel involved.
PHYSICAL Ability to lift 50 pounds.
