I had a combination of relative and absolute references in the DSC and FDF and the build did not work as the build system got confused about the location in the Build directory of items. So X64/MdePkg/ vs X64/edk2/MdePkg. I fixed by doing this. self.SourceDir = os.path.relpath(mws.join(GlobalData.gWorkspace, self.SourceDir), self.WorkspaceDir) I don't think that covers the case of a Path outside the workspace so an extra check should be added and if that check fails then call self.SourceDir = mws.relpath(self.SourceDir, self.WorkspaceDir).
