Your info is insufficient. How is the usb2serial cable used to connect PC and the custom board? Usb port is connecting to PC and the opposite end, that is serial port, is connecting to the board?

You should be able to see UsbIo protocol is installed for this board. You could locate this UsbIo to see if it provides available endpoints for your serial output usage.
