- There is no symmetry here. It seems to me as if someone is still
cowed by the nasty manners of national GOP leaders.
The early call (for Gore) was neither based on bias nor did it have
noticeable effect on the Florida outcome. (Other states? ineffable.)
The late call (for Bush) was made first by a Bush in-law (at Fox) and
was one of the roots of that attitude of divine entitlement that they
sported during the 36 days, and that they indulge in yet (re: comments
after Ashcroft's approval).
