Like Dennis, I have some reservations about job satisfaction being
purely the employee's responsibility. There are many incompetent
managers out there who somehow manage to hire sound technical people. If
the manager can't delegate or distribute responsibility properly or
confuses the enterprises interests with his own personal interest, any
employee may be in trouble. This kind of situation is not uncommon in
fast-growing or politically charged environments. Been there, done that.
