ANNOUNCING ICIP 2001 VIRTUAL JOB FAIR
2001 IEEE International Conference on Image Processing (ICIP) will be held
in Thessaloniki, Greece on 7-10 October, 2001. ICIP is one of the major
international conferences in the area of Image Processing, Signal
Processing, Computer Vision as well as their applications. This year ICIP will
organize for the first time a web-based Virtual Job Fair. Please read below
for more details. There are two parts in this message:
A. Job Applicants Call for Participation at the ICIP 2001 Virtual Job

A. JOB APPLICANTS CALL FOR PARTICIPATION AT THE VIRTUAL JOB
FAIR OF ICIP 2001
We would like to invite specialists in the fields of image processing,
computer vision, signal processing and related areas to submit their
curriculum vitae in the ICIP 2001 Virtual Job Fair. The virtual job fair
will provide a unique opportunity for job applicants to be contacted by
leading companies in the field, seeking employees. The applicants information
will become available, through a website, to interested companies/institutions
seeking employees.
The virtual job fair is addressed both to experienced professionals from
industry and academia, as well as to graduate/postgraduate students nearing
completion of their degrees.
Interested applicants should submit by email the following information to

1. A short ascii text containing:
a. List of educational degrees (e.g. PhD in Electrical
Engineering, MSc in Comp Science, etc) and the year when
they were awarded.
b. List of keywords describing his/her expertise (e.g. image
analysis, medical imaging ,etc)
d. Position sought (e.g. research engineer, lecturer etc) (optional)
c. Preferable region of employment (e.g. Europe, North America,
Japan etc.) (optional)
2. A detailed CV in pdf format

2001 organizing committee cannot guarantee confidentiality.
B. RECRUITERS CALL FOR PARTICIPATION AT THE VIRTUAL JOB FAIR
OF ICIP 2001
We invite corporate and academia recruiters from all segments of
image processing, computer vision, signal processing and related
areas to participate in the ICIP 2001 Virtual Job Fair. The Virtual
Job Fair will provide a unique opportunity for recruiters to contact
a large pool of qualified candidates, both experienced professionals
from industry and academia as well as graduate/postgraduate students
nearing completion of their degrees. The Virtual Job Fair will be
set up as a website, linked to the ICIP 2001 webpage
(http:\\icip01.ics.forth.gr).
Recruiters can take advantage of this virtual event in two ways:
1. Post announcements of job openings on the Virtual Job Fair
web-page. The announcement should be either a link to a
web-page or a document in pdf format. Furthermore, potential employers
will be kindly requested to provide a logo of their company/institution
and a set of keywords describing the company/institution in order to
be placed in this webpage.
2. Access CV information of job-seeking candidates that will
be posted in the password protected Virtual Job Fair web-page
Note that participation to the Virtual Job fair is free for those seeking
a job, thus we expect that a large number of CVs will be collected.
The fee for these services is 103.000 Greek Drachmas (GRD) or, equivalently,
302,27 Euro. Universities can post their research vacancies free of charge.
