Dear subscribers to edstat, As you know, there have been some changes in the list this week caused by the demise of our old listserv. We now have a new server and some new procedures; there may be some wrinkles to iron out, but the list has been enhanced in many ways. ********************************************************************** PLEASE read this message; it is very important that you know about the following changes. ********************************************************************** Subscribe and unsubscribe messages are now sent to [EMAIL PROTECTED] instead of the old listserv address. PLEASE do not send these messages to the list! The name of the list is now just edstat (no "l" on the end anymore). The syntax of subscribe and unsubscribe messages is now a bit different. The message should appear in the body of your e-mail message -- not on the subject line, and not in an attachment. Note that you now need to include your e-mail address. Here are some examples: subscribe edstat [EMAIL PROTECTED] subscribe edstat-digest [EMAIL PROTECTED] unsubscribe edstat [EMAIL PROTECTED] unsubscribe edstat-digest [EMAIL PROTECTED] Yes, the digest version of the list is now operational! If you prefer the digest, you should unsubscribe to edstat and then subscribe to edstat-digest. ********************************************************************** There is now a web site that you should definitely check out at http://jse.stat.ncsu.edu/ ********************************************************************** There you will find: 1. Instructions for subscribing and unsubscribing 2. A web interface for subscribing and unsubscribing -- click on the "Major Cool" icon on the "instructions" page. 3. A new web-based archive of edstat! This archive is a wonderful improvement over the previous gopher-based archive. This new archive is the result of considerable work by Terry Byron and Nalin Dahyabhai at NC State. I think you will really be impressed. Please save this message for future reference. If you have list-related problems that you cannot solve by following the instructions on the web site, please write to me instead of to the list. Thanks.
