JMP 4, which is in Beta test and is said to be ready for release in
the first quarter of 2000, will import Excel files, and other files with
ODBC drivers. It will also export results to such programs.

JMP 4 still does not make real pretty graphs, such as 3-D Pie
Charts. BUT, I take that as an advantage. It does not tempt the
users to hide their data. You can choose the marker size and type
to get very readable graphs. I use JMP for all of my class
presentations which I do electronically from PowerPoint. A key is
to use Paste Special to get a picture instead of a TIF image.
Sometimes I ungroup the JMP graphic and change the line size,
etc. I am satisfied with the results.

I can share presentations in RealMedia format and handouts in
Acrobat PDF files.
