I agree with Muriel. Many years ago I read a book about something called rational
emotive therapy (RET) which was based on the premise that you can consciously
choose your emotional response to other's words and actions. If you choose to let
their comments disturb your peace of mind, you are merely turning control over to
them and making your own life less pleasant.
When I find a thread (or a frequent contributor) becoming tedious, I use my
browser to mark the whole thread read and move on to something more interesting.
