Hi
My apologies for sending this if the answer is trivial (I am a biologist who
plays with statistics) a reference to a good text book would be useful. I
have a curve of cumulative number of species over time (i.e. time, years in
fact on x). For theoretical reasons I want to fit a two parameter
rectangular hyperbola of the form Y=(A*X)/(B+X) where A and B are
constants. Ok well I can do a non-linear curve fit no problem and get an
answer...
The problem is that as I see it is that my Y variables are not independent
of each other as obviously cumulative scores build on each other. Thus
generating estimates for my parameters and confidence intervals is
problematical. I need the actual value of the parameters. Any thoughts or
pointers to text books?
