I found something yesterday that might serve as a cautionary note about
carefully specifying missing value codes.

OfficeMax has a ticket stub for the Hewlett Packard PSC 500 printer that you
take up to the cashier when you want to buy that printer.  They list the
"OfficeMax Everyday Low Price" as $299.99. Below that they say "Save
$9,700.00". Wow, that's a lot of savings. Beneath that they say "List Price
$9,999.99". I suspect that there is a problem with treating missing values
codes as real data, don't you?
