This position will be a strategic position for delivery of integrated functional gene discovery analysis. Specifically, the person in this role will work with multidimensional data sets derived from the Paradigm Genetics high throughput research platforms to form a cohesive understanding of the relationships between gene expression, biological morphometric (phenomic) expression, and biochemical profiles.

Responsibilities include providing strategic guidance and leadership for delivery of integrated gene discovery analysis; developing and implementing advanced data mining and statistical methods for integrated discovery of gene function across multiple data delivery platforms. This may include visualization techniques, multivariate analysis, clustering, principal components, and discriminant analysis techniques. This position requires collaboration with Paradigm Genetics Research Scientists to present results (e.g. peer reviewed journal articles, meeting presentations, internal manuscripts, patent applications) from integrated discovery of gene function.  Incumbent will provide principle-consulting advice to the FunctionFinder team (bioinformatics and Software Engineering) for all areas of statistical analysis and summary data deliveries; mentor graduate students (as appropriate); and make oral and written presentations to Paradigm Scientists and management regarding work. Secondary responsibilities will also include design of experiments, analysis, and collaboration with biostatisticians working with each of the research platforms.

This position requires a Ph.D. in Statistics, Biostatistics, Computational Biology, or Computational Chemistry. A publication history that demonstrates accomplishment in the areas of analysis and consulting with statistical methodology and/or biological, chemistry, or biochemistry research methods and projects is a must.  Excellent oral and written communication skills are a must. Programming experience with SAS, S-Plus, numerical recipes (C, C++), or other similar software packages and Relational database and UNIX experience are desired.

If you have the credentials and are interested in making a significant contribution toward furthering multidimensional statistical methodology in the area of high throughput functional genomics please send your CV and three reference contacts to Mr. Slade Chandler (Corporate Recruiter) at [EMAIL PROTECTED].
