Title: graphics programming libraries for Visual BASIC

This might be a bit off topic, so please accept my apologies. If anyone can suggest a better place to raise this question, please let me know.

I am working on a group project that involves producing some custom charts using Visual BASIC. I won't be doing the programming myself, so I do not have the choice to consider an alternative programming environment.

I'd like to find some type of graphics library that could produce good quality charts. The project requires the production of time trend charts where the user will have choices about the date range. The user will also need to look at subsets of the data. The data will come from a Microsoft SQL Server database.

The software that we produce needs to be a stand alone system, so linking into statistical software like S-plus won't work.

Some of the capabilities that I would like to have are:

1. Ability to draw line graphs and add reference lines and text.
2. Flexibility in labeling axes.
3. Ability to plot multiple panels (e.g., plot four charts in a two by two grid).
4. Ability to print, copy to the clipboard, and save to a file.
5. Use "MouseOver" to identify individual data points.

I also want something where the graphs look professional. Thanks in advance for any help that you can provide.
