The Chicago Chapter of the American Statistical Association will present 
its Annual Conference on May 3, 2002.  This year the overall theme will 
be "Data Mining and Model Selection".  Topics include:

Bayesian Treed Generalized Linear Models with Application to Target 
Marketing

Predictive data mining with multiple additive regression trees

Data mining in e-commerce: Insights gained and lessons learned

Gene expression analysis: The perils of statistics in the post-genome era

Speakers include Dr. Rob McCulloch, Dr. Jerome Friedman and Dr. Jennifer 
Steinbach.


The Chapter will also present a workshop on "Resampling Methods: A Guide 
for the Practicioner."  The workshop will take place on May 9-10, 2002. 
  The presenters for the Workshop are Dr. Michael R. Chernick, and
Dr. Phillip I. Good.
