I don't know much about Maple; I can say that until quite recently, Mathematica was not fun to use for statistics. It's extremely accurate, but the learning curve is flat (where time is the abscissa and accumulate knowledge is the ordinate). However, the new book by Rose and Smith changes all that. For the price of the book (and the Mathematica macros that come with it), Mathematica is now easy to use for statistics. Check out the book at Springer, _Mathematical Statistics with Mathematica_ or visit the book's website: www.mathstatica.com
I just finished writing a favorable review of the book. Regards, Bruce [EMAIL PROTECTED] (Andreas K.) wrote in message news:<[EMAIL PROTECTED]>... > Maple or Mathematica?
